Harenari ~A place where Kanzake warms your heart~
“Why do you think people drink liquor?”
I was once asked this question when drinking at a bar, and the first thing I answered was “because I want to be kind and gentle”.
Even if I have a hard day at work, or have some kind of trouble which irritates me, once I have a drink my stress fades away, and gentle feelings come back to me. Of course, to enjoy the taste of the liquor is a major premise, but I feel that I am drinking to obtain some sort of consolation.
I especially feel that Kanzake gives us a warm and gentle feeling much more compared to other liquor. As I was drinking Kanzake at Harenari and sorting my thoughts, the master, Mr.Daichi Yoshimoto said to me.
“I think what makes Kanzake so attractive, is its gentleness. It makes you relaxed, warm, and kind. I like the gentle taste of Kanzake.”
His words were very convincing. And just like his words, the Kanzake made by the master is like a warm hot spring, very gentle and mild. It was a pleasure to be intoxicated little by little with the Kanzake’s taste.
Harenari is…
A bar located in Kichijouji, which is now celebrating its 7th anniversary. They have varieties of liquor other than Japanese sake, so you might want to enjoy something else before having Kanzake. They have delicious foods using the fishes and vegetables in season, and simple meat menus, all which goes very well with liquor. There are many fans who visits frequently, and the master is loved by the customers for his gentle character. Harenari is a place full of gentleness and warmth, that even first-timers can feel themselves at home.
